The IDOLM@STER TV staff returns to A-1 Pictures for anime premiering next January.
The official website for the The IDOLM@STER franchise announced on Saturday that a TV anime adaptation of The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls mobile game has been green-lit, and will premiere in January 2015. As with 2011’s The IDOLM@STER anime, A-1 Pictures will animate the series. The announcement was first made at the mobile game’s first live concert on Saturday.
The website also is streaming the announcement video for the anime, which features the song, “Onegai! Cinderella” (Please! Cinderella) by the franchise’s voice actresses. The promotional video is narrated by Ayaka Ohashi as her character, Uzuki Shimamura.
Much of the staff from the 2011 The IDOLM@STER anime seiries will return for the Cinderella Girls anime. Noriko Takao will direct the series at A-1 Pictures, and will also provide series compostion alongside Tatsuya Takahashi. Yuusuke Matsuo (The IDOLM@STER Anim@tion Master Namassuka Special CD jacket illustration, Yama no Susume character design) will design the characters.
Every month, the official website will unveil a new key visual, with the first representing the idols representing the Cute-type idols (coming in May), the second representing the Cool-type idols (June), and the third representing the Passion-type idols (July).
The mobile game franchise also received an animated promotional video in celebration of the game’s second year of service in November. As of 2012, the game earns approximately 1 billion yen (about US$9.6 million) each month, and has over four million users. The game has inspired a line of goods, various manga adaptations, and the 25th through 30th CD character song singles will be released later this month. The first five character song singles released ranked in the top ten on the weekly Oricon charts.
